Founder Story

A soft place to remember

When the Calendar Hurts was created by Teresa Busby after the loss of her son and after writing her book of the same name. Teresa knows grief does not stay in one place. It comes back through holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, empty chairs, family traditions, and quiet moments when the world expects you to keep going.

This app was created from that place of love and loss. It is for anyone who has ever looked at a date on the calendar and felt their heart sink. Teresa created this space so grieving people could remember, write, prepare, light a candle, say the name, and know they are not alone.

A few words to keep

  • For the days the calendar hurts.
  • A soft place to remember.
  • Because love still needs somewhere to go.
  • For the names we still say.
  • For birthdays, holidays, and the empty-chair days.
  • You do not have to face the hard dates alone.
  • Not moving on. Carrying love forward.

Holiday Support

This day may not feel the way it used to. That is okay. You are allowed to change the tradition. You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to cry. You are allowed to remember them in your own way.
